 2 tbsp Oil
  cup Popcorn kernels
 Salt (to taste)
1

Heat oil on the stove top in a large, heavy-bottomed pot over medium-high heat. It's important to use a heavy pot to keep the corn kernels from burning before they pop.

2

Add three kernels of popcorn and cover the pot.

3

Wait until the three "test" kernels have popped, and then add the rest of the popcorn kernels to the pot.

4

Cover the pot again, and remove it from the heat for 30 seconds.

5

Return the pot to the heat. Cook, shaking the pot every few seconds to keep the popcorn from burning.

6

Once the popping slows down to one pop every few seconds, turn the heat off. Remove the lid from the pot as soon as the popping has completely stopped, t prevent the kernels from steaming and getting less crispy.

7

Add salt to taste, and flavor with whatever you want!
